Why have two blogs? I have a blogger and a tumblr. I keep the blogger for more organized thoughts and stories. Tumblr is more for the short and sweet stuff.
(You guys should feel privileged to be able to read my short thoughts. They are quite genius if I do say so myself.)
Anyway, I am just a day closer to going to California for more military training. I would rather not go since this is a reserve unit and half of the guys aren’t ready for war, but what the heck? It could be fun, right? I hope so. It may give me some more material for this movie script I have been writing.
I am also in search of a reliable vehicle. I have seen many cars, but the insurance rates for cars are out of this world. I knew there was a reason I liked trucks more! An SUV would be more ideal, though, considering I need to carry camera gear in all sorts of weather climates due to storm chasing and shooting models on rainy days. I guess we will see what I find :).
Again, this is just a random thought post. No organization required for tumblr.
I am sitting inside of the Washington Dulles Airport gobbling down some very unhealthy food from Five Guys. The best burgers on the planet!
Anyway, I am coming home from military training. I thought the military was for me, then I thought it was not. Now, I am not too sure. For my graduation, I was asked by our brigade chaplain to say a prayer. All of my classmates told me afterwards that they were really impressed and wish I was in their units as a chaplain because I am very easy to talk with about problems. I was very flattered. I was nervous as all get out to say this prayer, but I said it believing God would give me the words which he did.
I am just reflecting on the whole experience and wondering if I am just doing all of this wrong. Forget trying to just help people with my hands. Prayer is a powerful thing to anyone, atheist or not. There will always be people who say “Good luck, I don’t believe in God” or whatever, but if you show that you care enough to pray, they most likely will not turn you down. In fact, they may come over later and ask for you to pray for them on their own time.
I cannot say that being a chaplain is my calling but it has something definitely to do with prayer. It may even mean I am going to be staying in the military. I love the military, I just have been screwed over so much by the Army. Not that the Marines will be different but I would love to be a chaplain in the Marines. Don’t know if I could, but we will see! Keep praying!
Also, I am coming home today. First person I get to see is my girlfriend. I love that girl so freaking much! We will be putting together the health blog.
I hope you all are doing well! God bless and remember Jesus is Lord!
That prefers combat boots to vans.
It’s how we jam in the military.
